Question: What exactly made audrey hepburn and marilyn monroe fashion icons/legends?

Are there any other people like those 2? as far as I know, marilyn monroe was basically manufacted head to toe, she had chin implants, a nose job, dyed her hair platinum blonde, changed her hairline, possibly an eyebrow lift. but regardless she was still gorgeous <3 idk about audrey though

They both were attractive ladies, in the public eye, and had cutting-edge fashion. they were on top of the trends and worked them to their own tastes, not to mention they were both rule-breakers (conventional female role wise), which worked in their favor.
