Question: Does being an assistant to an editor of a fashion magazine help getting ahead?

Does it actually help or is it just the hype of the likes of 'The Devil Wears Prada' and 'Ugly Betty'?

Definately a good way to find out how the industry works - both the fashion industry and magazine publishing. Don't expect to be editor of Vogue within 12 months though.
